Privacy notice
Elizabeth Bookkeeping & Accountancy (“we”) provides bookkeeping and accountancy services to UK businesses through this website and the client portal. This notice explains what we collect and why, in plain English.
What we collect
- Contact details you give us when you book a chat, email us, or create a portal account (name, email, phone, business name).
- Financial records you provide for bookkeeping — receipts, invoices, bank statements and connected email receipts. These are used solely to keep your books and prepare your tax.
- Basic technical logs needed to run and secure the service. The marketing site sets no advertising cookies.
How we use it
- To provide bookkeeping, accountancy and tax services you engage us for.
- To operate the platform: AI agents draft your books; our accountants review them.
- To meet legal obligations (HMRC filings you authorise, anti-money-laundering rules).
We do not sell your data. We share it only with processors needed to run the service (hosting, payments via Stripe, messaging) and with HMRC when you ask us to file.
Email access
If you connect Gmail or Microsoft 365, access is read-only and used only to find receipts and invoices. You can disconnect it in one click from the portal, which revokes our access.
Security
Data is encrypted at rest, protected by two-factor authentication and role-based access, and every change to your books is recorded in an audit trail.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can request a copy of your data, correction, or deletion (subject to records we must keep by law). Your books are yours: you can export them at any time.
