Accessibility Statement
Last reviewed 11 July 2026

In short
We aim for WCAG 2.2 Level AA across elizabethbookkeeping.uk: keyboard-operable pages, sensible headings and labels, adequate contrast, and respect for reduced-motion preferences. If anything on the site is hard to use, email [email protected] and we will fix it or provide the content another way.
This statement covers the Elizabeth Bookkeeping marketing website at elizabethbookkeeping.uk. Accessibility here is treated as an engineering requirement, not an aspiration paragraph: bookkeeping is for everyone who runs a business, and a website that shuts people out fails at its one job.
Our target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA across this site. In practice, that commitment shapes how the site is built:
- Keyboard operability. Every interactive element — navigation, links, forms, the eligibility checker — is intended to be reachable and usable with a keyboard alone, in a sensible order, with a visible focus indicator so you always know where you are.
- Structure that assistive technology can read. Pages use semantic HTML: proper headings in a logical hierarchy, labelled form fields, descriptive link text, and alternative text for images that carry meaning.
- Readable presentation. Text and interface colours are chosen for adequate contrast, text can be resized without breaking layouts, and content reflows for small screens and zoomed views.
- Respect for your settings. The site honours reduced-motion preferences, and nothing on it flashes, autoplays with sound, or traps focus.
- No mouse-only or pointer-only interactions. Anything you can do by pointing, you can do another way.
Where we are honest about limits
A target is a standard to be measured against, not a claim of perfection. We review the site against WCAG 2.2 AA as it evolves, and issues can still slip through — a contrast slip in a new component, an image published without adequate alternative text, a third-party element that behaves badly. When we find such issues, or when they are reported, we prioritise fixing them rather than filing them away.
Tell us what is not working
If any part of this site is difficult or impossible for you to use — with or without assistive technology — we want to know, and we mean that operationally:
- Email [email protected] with the page address and a short description of the problem, plus the browser or assistive technology you were using if you can.
- We will acknowledge your report, aim to fix genuine failures promptly, and tell you when it is done.
- If you need any information from this site in another format in the meantime — plain text, large print, or simply the content of a page by email — ask, and we will provide it.
Reports like these are a service to every visitor after you, and they are received that way.
Scope and review
This statement applies to the marketing website. The client portal is an authenticated application with its own interface; we hold it to the same accessibility intent, and clients who encounter barriers there should use the same contact address above.
This page carries a last-reviewed date in its metadata, and we update the statement as the site and the guidelines change.
